Functional Art Gallery at NOMAD St. Moritz
For NOMAD St Moritz 2019, Functional Art is thrilled to present a solo exhibition by German duo BNAG.
Working between Germany and Morocco, the duo BNAG balance humor and a playful sense of the human body with a serious engagement in the social, technological, and psychological paradigms of contemporary life. On this occasion, we are delighted to offer a new range of furniture pairing fine wood with their trademark metal BNAGVerbinders, alongside a unique body of glazed ceramics.
The “Body Buddies” is a human body inspired ceramic vases series initially imagined for a hospital’s percent for art program (Kunst am Bau). The vases were meant to be used by all patients and visitors and taken to the rooms.
Body Buddies questions the idea of a representative work of art and let the user emotionally experience it in a new way. Each vase is a handcrafted one-of-a-kind, illustrating the beauty of the variance of our bodies.
For NOMAD St. Moritz we are expanding the BODY BUDDIES series to a new range of colors, sizes and body parts, taking the individuality and diversity at the core of the series to a new level.
